I'm new
What Time?
Wednesday:
6:45 PM - Prayer Meeting
Saturday:
9:30 AM - Sabbath School
10:45 AM - Church Service
What should I wear?
"Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony" (Colossians 3:14, NLT). Our top priority is Christian love and the humble pursuit of harmonious maturity. And though we encourage attendees to wear their best (wherever that falls in the socio-economic spectrum) and to do so modestly, we do not judge or turn away individuals because of what they are wearing.
Who will I meet?
On a Saturday morning you will typically encounter 60-90 persons who come from a variety of backgrounds. You will meet lifetime Mainers, students from the Caribbean, families from Asia and South America, and scores of other transplants "from away" (both nationally and abroad). You will encounter energetic kids zipping around the church, college students enjoying a much-needed respite from their studies, doctors who are on-call, and everyone in between.
Most of all, you will find a group of people who care about you and desperately want to minister to your needs and enjoy fellowship and community with you.
What will I hear?
Our pastor, Shawn Brace, usually preaches on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month. When he's not preaching, the elders typically present the message. Occasionally, another layperson from the congregation or a guest from away will share. Whomever it is that presents, every message is Christ-centered, love-focused, Bible-based, Adventist-grounded, relevant, and filled with hope. (To get a good idea of the type of message you will hear, try this one for starters.)
Musically, we come from diverse backgrounds. Thus, on any given Saturday you might sing a hearty hymn or a classic contemporary song. Each song, however, is approached with humility, reverence, and a concern for the sensitivities of all who are in attendance.
